Every day at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, you can step back in time and experience a traditional British-style afternoon tea.
Escape to the serene setting of the Garden View Lounge and treat yourself to the tea experience daily from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Located on the first floor of the lobby of this Disney Vacation Club resort, afternoon tea is the perfect getaway for a Mother/Daughter Date, a Girl’s Day Out, a relaxing respite for couples, or a personal break from the hustle and bustle of being at the Disney parks all day. To add to the ambiance, each day at 3 p.m., live music starts to drift throughout the tea room provided by a professional piano performer or the delightfully-distinguished Disney Band.
Grand Floridian Menu Options
One of the greatest things about the Afternoon Tea menu is all of the different options that are available to you. It works for any budget since the plans that are offered are between $30 and $175.
The least expensive option is The Bedfordshire Tea choice. The first course in this option comes with a medley of finger sandwiches accompanied by berries, a variety of cheeses, and lavosh. Your second course will be a buttery scone and a delicious jam tart. For the finale, you will be provided with a choice of delicate homemade pastries, strawberries and creme, or an English trifle. This choice is accompanied by any flavor of tea your choose. The price for this option is $30.
The next options of The Derbyshire Tea. This comes with everything from the Bedfordshire Tea option, but instead of just tea, you can choose to have a glass of the exquisite Vueve Clicquot Champagne. This option is $45.
The Cheshire Tea option provides the same courses as the Derbyshire Tea choice, but you will also be provided an additional course of exotic fruits and delectable imported cheeses. This menu choice costs $48.
The next option is The Berkshire Tea. This option provides you with a first course of the extraordinary North American caviar with all of the traditional accompaniments. The second course offers a variety of finger sandwiches that come with berries, cheese, and lavosh. The third course consists of a buttery scone and a jam tart. The final course offers you a choice of homemade pastries, strawberries and creme, or a traditional English trifle. Of course, you also get to choose any flavor of tea. This option is a bit more expensive at $150, but it is enough for two people to enjoy.
The most deluxe option on the menu is The Yorkshire Tea option. It comes with everything offered in the Berkshire Tea options but additionally comes with two glasses of the previously mentioned delicious Veuve Clicquot Champagne and your choice of two pots of any flavored tea. Since this is the most magnificent option on the menu, it is the most expensive package at $175; however, it is designed for two people to share.
Having a Tea Date with your kids is definitely something that they will cherish forever and never forget. It is a special memory that you will keep with you forever.
The Mrs. Potts offer is just for kids ages 3 to 9. The price for this option is just $13 and it’s guaranteed to be an experience your kids will never forget. For the most part, this option is similar to the ones above. Their first course will be assorted tea sandwiches including tuna salad, ham & cheese, and peanut butter and jelly on white bread. The second course is a delicious jam tart followed by the scrumptious homemade pastry finale. The kids will even get a special “dark tea,” which is really chocolate milk in disguise. Also, if your kids do want to experience the “real” tea, there is only a $3 upcharge.
Types of Tea
There’s an assortment of traditional and exotic teas to choose from, including Disney’s signature blends prepared by an actual master tea blender. There are fragrant herbal infusions, exotic green teas, Ceylon, and many other fine teas, all served the finest English porcelain teapots with velvet pot covers.
