Where Can I Get Special Dietary Food at WDW?

Most dine-in restaurant locations feature menus offering a wide selection of meal choices to satisfy practically every palate and nutritional need. The resorts really shine by offering an abundance of fresh and unprocessed options such as hearty salads, fresh fruits, grilled chicken, Mediterranean seafood dishes, and delectable veggie burgers. While strolling through the theme parks, you’ll be able to find vendors offering fresh fruit, pita chips, trail mix, veggies, pretzels, and sugar-free fruit bars.

Gluten-Free Cupcakes

In addition, a new gluten-free bakery has recently opened at the Downtown Disney Marketplace. Peek in the window at Erin McKenna’s Bakery to watch a live performance of doughnut dunking and cupcake frosting. Be sure to stop inside to sample a tasty and impressive selection of gluten-free and vegan bagels, cupcakes, cookies, donuts and more. Thanks to places such as Erin McKenna’s Bakery, you can still have plenty of the savory fare and sweet decadence available at Walt Disney World minus all the guilt!

Who Needs to Know I Have Dietary Needs?

When making reservations at any of the Disney table-service restaurants, giving as much notice as possible of your dietary needs is the best idea. However, you can also just let the host or hostess at the restaurant know that you will require some extra food preparation when you arrive is perfectly fine as well. Just make sure to provide the restaurant staff with any food allergy information and reconfirm the details upon arrival at the dining location. When attending one of Disney’s bountiful buffets, ask to speak with the manager to determine appropriate menu choices based upon your needs. Chef Mickey at Disney WorldIf you choose to dine at Victoria & Albert’s in the DVC resort, The Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, you’ll be able to create a fabulous, personalized meal that is unique to your particular dietary restrictions. Kosher meals are also available at Disney World with a 48-hour notice at select table-service locations. Guests with special intolerance or allergies are also permitted to bring food into the theme parks as long as the bag check/security guard at the entrance gate is advised. You may also want to confirm the availability of a refrigerator in your guest room for any food items requiring refrigeration. Just like with the restaurants, the idea here is to plan ahead. Call the Disney reservation line at (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463 to request additional dining information on participating restaurants and to make special requests.
