New Disney Vacation Resort Villas, New Increases In Direct Points
Disney Vacation Club has announced some exciting news recently and one resort’s updates will open in just a few months! The highly-anticipated expansion at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is expected to open in June 2022, so DVC fans are definitely excited to book those rooms ASAP. Another more recent announcement is that a new tower of villas will be opening at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort sometime in 2024.
Walt Disney World isn’t the only place where new DVC magic is happening! Disneyland Hotel will soon offer DVC villas once the resort expansion is complete. Construction has begun on that project, but it is still in its early stages. We will certainly keep you updated as more information comes out about this exciting project.
All of these exciting announcements mean more options when booking a Disney Vacation Club stay, but the changes come at a price. DVC implemented price increases for direct points purchased at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Old Key West, and Saratoga Springs. Regardless of the month-to-month prices, you can see that almost every resort’s resale prices have increased from 2021’s average cost per point. March 2022’s average DVC resale price per point was $131.74.
The asking price per point for every sale can vary depending on several things. The average resale price per point for March 2022 does signify that resale prices are still rising for DVC, but it does not mean that all contracts will sell at or above the average.
If you are considering selling your DVC points, the price per point in which you sell can depend on the immediate availability of your points or even how many points you are allotted every year. If you have any pending reservations, this can also affect the selling price per point.
